1. What we collect
When you create a Scholaris account we collect your name, email address and an encrypted hash of your password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google. We never store your Google password.
2. Research content you upload
PDFs, TXT, CSV and Markdown files you upload, and the chat messages you exchange with Scholaris, are stored in our database so we can deliver the multi-conversation history feature. Uploaded files are stored on encrypted server volumes and processed by our LLM provider (Google Gemini) only when you actively ask for an analysis.
3. Payment information
Payments are processed by Razorpay. We never see your full card number, CVV or banking credentials. We store only the order ID, payment ID, amount, plan/credit purchased and timestamp.
4. How we use data
- Provide and maintain the chatbot service
- Bill paid plans and credit packs
- Detect abuse, fraud and security incidents
- Communicate critical service notices
We do not sell your data, train public models on your uploads, or share your research content with advertisers.
5. Third parties we work with
- Google Gemini — to generate answers to your prompts
- Razorpay — to process payments
- MongoDB Atlas — to store accounts, chats and files
6. Your rights
You can delete any conversation from the sidebar at any time. To delete your account or request a copy of all data we hold on you, email privacy@scholaris.app. We will respond within 30 days.
7. Children
Scholaris is intended for graduate students, researchers and adults over 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
8. Updates
If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect.
